Sleeve boxes are two-piece packaging: an inner tray holds the product, and an outer sleeve slides over it. This is different from a packaging sleeve, sometimes called a belly band, which is a flat printed strip wrapped around a box that already exists. One is a box. The other is a wrap.

How Sleeve and Tray Boxes Work: The Fit That Matters
The two-part construction
A sleeve and tray box has two parts. The tray is a shallow base, often with a raised edge or a die-cut insert. That holds the product still. The sleeve is an open-ended wrap that slides over the tray and locks it in place by friction, no glue, no closure, no tape.
Getting the fit right
The fit between the two is what makes or breaks this style. Too loose, and the sleeve slides off in transit or looks cheap on a shelf. Too tight, and it's a fight to open, customers pull at the corners, and the box or the product inside can get damaged. We build the sleeve to grip the tray firmly enough to stay closed under normal handling, but light enough that one smooth pull removes it.
