Custom Shopping Bags & Paper Bags
Printed with your logo, built with a handle that actually holds. The last thing your customer carries out the door.

What Makes a Shopping Bag More Than Just a Bag?
Custom shopping bags and custom paper bags are printed retail carriers, usually kraft paper or SBS board, built with a handle strong enough for what's inside and a surface wide enough to carry your branding out the door. The bag is the last thing a customer touches before they leave your store, and often the first thing other people see.
A cheap bag with a handle that fails is a bad final impression on a good purchase. At Shahwaze, we don't just print a logo on a bag. We match the handle type and board weight to what the bag is actually going to carry, so the branding survives the walk to the car.
Shahwaze Packaging manufactures custom kraft paper bags for retail, boutique, cosmetic, food-service, and gift brands across the USA. See our Retail Packaging, Cosmetic Packaging, Food Packaging, and Gift Packaging pages for industry-specific detail. Board choice is covered in full on our Kraft Boxes material page.
Twisted, Flat, Ribbon, or Die-Cut: Choosing Your Handle
Every supplier lists these five handle types side by side. Almost none explain which one actually suits your product's weight and your brand's positioning.
If you're carrying something with real weight, twisted paper or riveted leather hold up best. If the bag is light and the priority is cost per unit, die-cut is the simplest option. Ribbon suits gifting where the bag is meant to look good more than carry heavy load.

Eurotote, Fold-Over, or Standard Construction?
Handle type is one decision. The bag's overall construction is another. Eurotote bags stand up on their own, like a small gift box, instead of flopping over like a paper sack. That structured look comes from a reinforced fold at the top edge, and it's the standard for fashion and higher-end gifting.
- Eurotote construction. A stiff board insert at the base plus a folded, reinforced top edge give the bag a squared, standing shape instead of a floppy one. This is the look most boutiques and fashion retailers want.
- Fold-over top. The top edge tucks into slots on the sides, no tape needed, leaving a large clear panel for your artwork. A clean look at a lower cost than a full eurotote.
- Standard construction. A straightforward bag body, usually paired with a flat or twisted handle, the workhorse option for everyday retail and takeout.

Kraft or SBS Board: What Weight to Choose
Two material families cover most shopping bags. Kraft paper comes in white (bleached, brighter, more retail-polished) or natural brown (unbleached, an eco-facing look). SBS board, a smooth, bright cardstock, gives a more premium print surface for higher-end branding.
Weight is chosen by use, not guessed. Lighter stock in the range other suppliers commonly use for takeout, bakery, and grocery bags keeps cost down for high-volume, single-trip use. Heavier stock, similar to what's typically specified for eurotote-style bags, holds its shape and survives reuse, worth it for retail and gifting where the bag gets carried, not just filled once and thrown away.
We also offer CUK (coated unbleached kraft), a natural kraft base with a coated printing surface, combining an eco-facing look with sharper print detail than uncoated kraft alone.

Who Custom Shopping Bags Are Built For
Different buyers need different things from the bag, grouped below by what matters most to each.
- Retail and boutique stores. Where the bag is part of the unboxing moment, usually eurotote or fold-over construction with a premium handle.
- Gift shops and events. Ribbon-handled bags for presentation-first purchases, see our Gift Packaging page for related structures.
- Cosmetics and beauty retail. Premium eurotote or fold-over bags where the bag itself is part of the brand experience, see our Cosmetic Packaging page.
- Cafes, bakeries, and takeout. Lighter stock with flat handles, and a wider base fold for bulkier orders, built for speed and volume rather than reuse, see our Food Packaging page.
- Trade shows, markets, and pop-ups. Sturdy, brand-forward bags that function as a walking advertisement well past the point of sale.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most custom shopping bags are made from kraft paper (white or brown) or SBS cardstock, chosen based on the look and durability the brand needs.
Kraft is a natural paper stock, available bleached (white) or unbleached (brown), with an eco-facing feel. SBS board is a smoother, coated cardstock that gives a more premium, retail-polished print surface.
A eurotote has a reinforced turnover-top and base board for a rigid, standing shape, the premium option. A fold-over bag locks its top edge into side slits with no tape, giving a clean look at a lower cost, without the same rigidity.
Twisted paper suits general retail and real weight. Flat paper suits high-volume takeout and bakery use. Die-cut is the simplest, lowest-cost option for light items. Ribbon suits gifting. Riveted leather suits premium retail where the bag itself is part of the brand.
Yes, paper bags with logo printing in full color (CMYK or Pantone, however precise your brand colors need to be), on kraft or SBS board, with matte lamination or embossed finish options.
Yes, custom kraft paper bags in white or natural brown kraft, with twisted, flat, or ribbon handle options.
Yes, CUK combines a natural kraft base with a coated surface for sharper printing than uncoated kraft.
It depends on what the bag is carrying. Apparel and boutique retail usually need a larger eurotote or fold-over format, while takeout and small gift items suit a smaller standard bag. Tell us your product and we'll recommend a size.
Yes, wholesale paper bags pricing at volume, with low minimums (often 100 to 500 units) for a first production run.
Yes, lighter kraft stock with a flat handle and a wider base fold for bulkier orders, built for food-service volume and speed.
Yes, custom tote bags in fold-over or standard construction, in addition to our full paper bag range.
That's usually a sign the handle type doesn't match the load. A die-cut or light ribbon handle isn't built for real weight. Twisted paper or riveted leather, with reinforcement at the attachment point, is the fix. Tell us the packed weight and we'll spec it properly.
Yes, a physical sample so you can check handle strength, board weight, and print quality before committing to production.
