Custom Lipstick Boxes: Built to Protect the Bullet
A snug fit, a cap that doesn't scuff, and room left for everything the label has to say.

What Custom Lipstick Boxes Actually Have to Do
Custom lipstick boxes have two jobs. First, hold the tube still. It is small and easy to damage. If it moves inside the box, it can rattle, get scratched, or pop open during shipping. Second, leave room for your label. That means your logo and shade name, and also anything your label is required by law to show.
We plan for both at the same time. If we only think about the fit first, there may not be enough room left for the required text once the design is approved. Planning both together avoids that problem.
Shahwaze Packaging manufactures custom lipstick boxes for makeup brands, indie beauty startups, and private-label lines across the USA. See our Cosmetic Packaging page for our full range of beauty packaging.
There's More on a Lipstick Box Than Just Your Logo
Before we design around your logo, we plan space for the practical stuff. Most cosmetic products need these on the box somewhere:
- The ingredient list. Often long, and it needs to stay readable, not shrunk to fit at the last minute.
- Net weight and batch or lot code. Small text, but it has to be there and has to be legible.
- A Period After Opening symbol, if your product needs one. The small jar icon with a number and "M" for months.
- Warnings and a barcode or QR code. Wherever your brand and your retailer require them.
We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice, but we do know how to leave the room. Send us your label content early and we will design the box around it, not squeeze it in after the fact.
Why Lipstick Caps Get Scuffed in Transit
A lipstick tube that shifts inside the box can scratch its own cap or scuff against the sides. A neck collar insert holds the tube at the neck so it cannot move, the same die-cut card insert principle explained on our Rigid Boxes material page's Custom Inserts section, adapted here to a single tube rather than a bottle or a cake. Foam or molded pulp inserts work the same way for heavier or metal components. Tell us your tube's exact shape and we will fit the insert to it.
Tell us your tube dimensions and your required label content, we'll plan the fit and the layout together, and quote it free.

Can a Lipstick Box Hang on a Pegboard?
Many retail beauty displays hang stock from a pegboard rather than sitting it flat on a shelf. A hang tab with a euro slot hole, the same hole type explained on our Hang Tab & Handle Boxes style page, is the common choice for these planogram-style displays.
Not every retailer uses a pegboard, so this is only worth adding if you know your display environment. Ask us and we'll confirm before adding a hole your retailer doesn't actually need.
One Lipstick Box, or a Full Set?
A single lipstick usually suits a simple tuck-end or two-piece box. Multi-lipstick sets, duos and trios especially, often move to a tray-and-sleeve format with individual dividers, the same slide-open mechanism explained on our Sleeve Boxes style page.
A gift set is also a natural fit for rigid construction with foam or card dividers if the line is positioned as premium.

Materials, Printing & Finishes
Folding paperboard is the standard, light, easy to print, and cost-effective for everyday retail. Rigid board steps up to a premium feel for prestige lines. See our Rigid Boxes and Kraft Boxes material pages for the fuller comparison.
Finishes commonly used for lipstick packaging include foil stamping, embossing or debossing, soft-touch lamination, and spot UV, all popular for making a small box feel like a bigger investment in the customer's hand.
Why Beauty Brands Work With Us on Custom Lipstick Boxes

Free samples before production
A physical sample so you can test the fit with your actual tube before committing.
