What Makes a Display Box Actually Sell?
Display boxes, most commonly built as cardboard display boxes or corrugated units, are printed retail fixtures built to hold products where shoppers make quick decisions: on a counter, at a checkout, or on a store floor.
Most in-store buying decisions happen close to the shelf, not before the shopper walks in. A good display box puts your product right where that decision gets made.

Counter Display or Floor Display?
This is the first real decision. Get it wrong, and the retailer either can't fit your display or won't bother setting it up.
Small, light, and cheap belongs on the counter. If your product needs more than a shallow tray of space, the honest answer is a floor display, not a counter box stretched past what it was built for.
Does Your Display Need a Header Card?
A header card is the printed panel that stands up above the product, usually the first thing a shopper sees. On a floor display, it earns its place. A shopper spots it from across the aisle before they're even close enough to see the product.
On a counter display, it often doesn't do much. The shopper is already standing right at the box. They don't need a header to notice it, and a tall header can make the display too tall for the retailer's counter space.
There's one exception. If the counter display sits low, behind the till, the header might be the only part a shopper actually sees. In that case, it's worth the extra height. Otherwise, put that print budget into the front panel instead, the part the shopper is actually looking at.
Why Refill Design Matters More Than You Think
A display that's hard to restock ends up empty. And an empty display on a store floor is worse than no display at all. It tells shoppers your product is out, even when your warehouse is full.
- Open-top access. A staff member should be able to drop new stock in without pulling the display apart.
- A removable or lift-off header. If the header blocks refilling, it gets skipped, and the display stays half-empty until someone has time to fix it properly.

Display Box Materials: Boxboard vs Corrugated
