Custom Kraft Boxes. Natural & White Kraft
Strong by chemistry, not just by looks. The paper stock behind nearly every structure we build.

What Actually Makes Kraft Paper "Kraft"?
Custom kraft boxes are made from paper produced by the kraft pulping process, a chemical process that breaks down wood into unusually long, strong fibres. "Kraft" is German and Swedish for "strength," and that's not a branding choice: it's a description of what the process actually produces. That's the real reason the kraft board holds up, not just its natural brown colour.
At Shahwaze, we don't just offer "kraft" as a colour option. We spec natural or white kraft based on what the print job actually needs, since that decision affects how your branding looks far more than most buyers expect.
Shahwaze Packaging manufactures custom kraft packaging across nearly every box structure we build, mailers, gift boxes, gable boxes, sleeves, and more. See our Gift Packaging, Retail Packaging, Food Packaging, and Cosmetic Packaging pages for industry-specific detail.
White Kraft or Natural Kraft?
Both come from the same kraft process. The difference is bleaching. Natural kraft keeps its brown colour and reads as rustic and eco-facing. White kraft is bleached to a bright, clean base that takes full-colour printing far better.
This is a real print decision, not just an aesthetic one. If your logo has bright colours that need to look accurate, white kraft or a white-ink underprint on natural kraft solves a problem that natural kraft alone can't.
Why Colours Look Different on Kraft
Brown kraft isn't a neutral canvas the way white board is. Ink sits on top of the brown tone rather than replacing it, which mutes bright colours and shifts them slightly warmer than they'd look on white stock.
- White ink underprint. A layer of white ink printed first creates a clean base for the actual design colours to sit on, closer to how they'd look on white board.
- Spot colour instead of full CMYK. For simple one- or two-colour logos, a solid spot colour often reads cleaner on kraft than a full-colour process print.
- Or switch to white kraft entirely. If exact colour matching matters more than the eco-facing brown look, white kraft removes the problem at the source.

Send us your logo and colours. We'll tell you honestly whether natural kraft will print it well, or whether white kraft is the better call.

Frequently Asked Questions
Kraft paper comes from the kraft pulping process, a chemical process that breaks wood down into unusually long, strong fibres. "Kraft" is German and Swedish for "strength," describing the result of that process.
Both use the same kraft process. Natural kraft keeps its brown colour; white kraft is bleached to a bright base. White kraft takes full-colour printing more accurately, while natural kraft reads as more rustic and eco-facing.
Brown kraft isn't a neutral base, ink sits on top of the brown tone, which mutes bright colours. A white ink underprint, a spot colour instead of full CMYK, or switching to white kraft all solve this.
If your colours need to match exactly, choose white kraft. If the eco-facing brown look is part of your brand identity and your design uses simple, darker colours, natural kraft works well as-is.
Kraft paper is generally recyclable and often produced with efficient chemical recovery in the pulping process. Recycled-content kraft is also available for brands wanting a stronger sustainability position.
